In German-speaking countries, Domain pulse usually opens the season of domain events. This year, the Domain pulse 2019, hosted by SWITCH, will take place in the Swiss capital Bern. The domain conference will begin tomorrow, 18 February 2019.
The Domain pulse is the most important event for current topics, tendencies and trends relating to domain names in the German-speaking world. Together and alternately, the three registries from Switzerland (SWITCH), Germany (DENIC eG) and Austria (Nic.at) will host the symposium. This year's host is the Swiss domain administration SWITCH, which will be inviting visitors to Bern City Hall on 18 and 19 February.

As every year, a varied programme awaits the domain community. After a welcoming address by Urs Eppenberger from SWITCH, Jamie Woodruff, Europe's #1 Ethical Hacker, will open the lecture series with the topic «The Changing Face of Cyber Security». This will be followed by contributions and discussions on the subject of «Internet Governance» with Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kleinwächter from the University of Aarhus and THomas Schneider from the Federal Office of Communications OFCOM.

Dr Samaneh Tajalizadehkhoob from ICAAN will report on the DAAR ICAAN Domain Abuse Activity Report, Henriette Vignal-Schjøth on the subject of ID checking when registering .dk domains, Michael Hausding from SWITCH will report on the resilience of Swiss domain names and Mike Hotz from the Cybercrime Competence Centre of the Zurich Cantonal Police will report on the role of the police.

Alexander Schwertner from ID4me and Petra Kauer-Ott from SWITCH present solutions in the field of digital identities.

On Tuesday, 19th February, the topic of e-voting in Switzerland will be highlighted. Jorgo Ananiadis from the Pirate Party and member of the committee «Volksinitiative für ein E-Voting Moratorium» and Christian Folini, partner at netea.com, author and co-director of the OWASP Core Rule Set Projects.

Afterwards there will be a talk about high-security Internet architecture for the 21st century. Keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Adrian Perrig from ETH Zurich will lead the discussion.

The Domain pulse 2019 will take place from 18 to 19 February 2019 at the Rathaus in Bern.
